My poems

Welcome once more and herein find some of my poems

*Blue Man*

Before, he was born unable to speak
Out of the blue he made a whisper
Grew louder, the next day
His silent box faded with his tears of joy
Someone pressed his ears with the unkindest words
That encouraged, more than discouraged

his sprouting voice

Confidence won over his shaky voice overnight

Birds made a wind of music over his bald head

A flight of joy just above his shiny forehead

Several lives flew over his head

And occasionally made a dive for seeds in the list loam ong made him their king

His lips never ceased to sing
Ripped his box open, let the words out to the clouds

And the rain did come in the dark of the night

To the birds, he sang them blues he made himself
And they made nests on his shoulder

Ate a little, listened to his blues a lot
He moved his shoulder left and right till all the eggs

cracked with new short beaked birds

Some had to fly overhead,

his shoulders were broad no more

And he was called the man out of the blue

Blue man

Birds made a wind of music over his bald head
A flight of joy just above his shiny forehead
Several lives flew over his head

And occasionally made a dive for seeds in the
soft moist loam
Made him their king
His lips never ceased to sing

*Am a man, not happy*

Been trying to deep my body into happiness
But I quite don’t understand what happiness is
Sure I know tis not about the pleasures of this world
Tis not the heart that giveth and grumbles
Tis not about the things my hardwork have chained
Tis not about being alone,

Tis not about making lots of friends

Tis not about making enemies

Tis not the warmth, the comfort, my fortress gives
May be tis about love, and pain, am not sure

May be tis about growing tall, may be short
May be waiting for nature to gray my hair
Still that is not satisfactory

*Is It Crushing*

Somebody tell me

To my bones, to my eyes, the truth and not its specks
To my ears, through the wax, onto the soft bones

Down the drums, the busy nerves
To the troubled mind
May be to reassure my sorrowful soul
That hope still can gush out more heartbeats

Into my world
That my world is not crushing
That still my lips can wink a smile
Electrifying, to the blue eyes out there
That my heart still can beat in the rhythm regular
That my lungs still can fatten my rib cage

That my world escaped my torso yet
And I don’t have to cry

That my blue warm world won’t get cold

That fate doesn’t want to fraught it
That it won’t crush

*A Lawyer Sat To Ponder*

Questions, several, kept his head spinning

And he talked to himself

Am a golden egg nested in law

So when I crack this shell tomorrow

My clients shall receive justice

But then whats justice?

Who is to blame for injustice, the law?

Law, someone says tis what it is

Another says law is what it ought to be

And I heard the young chick

already hatched

Claim, claim big time

That law makes murderers happier

than before

That lawyers are liars

Thought the parliament was

I mean, who legislates?

And when courts are all in smoke

Who is to blame?

And a second egg hatched  himself

*A Celebration of a Life Well Lived*

Thinking of one person my life well loved

You could be here with me today

Now ‘tis a decade, we miss you, need I say

Death thought your life was just all a play

Tricked you early into slumber’s way

Filled your heart, blocked the beating ray

Left me and reality in a ceaseless fray

Gone, guess like burnt hay

Here I am penning as years decay

Celebrating a life well lived

*LUTHER’S PAINTS*

Mixed all colors, to make great paints

Gracing papers with this paint

With non-violence, capturing the eyes of:

our thoughts

our hearts

the future

every blind human

To:

scare away racism

to unite us—sons of God

fill all eyes with peace

smack evil

And:

his paints won awards

he died, but the paints live—

his dream lives

*MILITIA MINDS*

Kidnap a dozen children

Abduct several others

Extract their kidneys for sale

Bomb enemies

Trust no one

even oneself

Loot business premises

Take charge of diamond mines

Take control of gold mines

Manipulate oil workers

Manage banks

Make nightmares on innocent minds

All over the country

Shoot frogs

And frogs alike

Burn forests

Pollute water, air and soil

Take hostage of ship captains

Grab all the relief food

Shun daylight

Welcome darkness

Kill under moonlight

Defile a few children

Rape a few women

Slaughter them thereafter

Laugh

Dance

Wine

And strangle more

With non-violence, capturing the eyes of:

our thoughts

our hearts

the future

every blind human

To:

scare away racism

to unite us sons of God

fill all eyes with peace

smack evil

And:
his paints won awards

he died, but the paints live

his dream lives

*APPRECIABLE WOMAN*

Breasts full of highland juice

Fragnanced bosom

Her outlook rejuvinated

By a coloured shadow

Her arrival graced by white doves

Lips plum creamed

Her cheeks ceaselessly shine

Well carved diamond teeth

Lovely eyes

Blue eyebrows

Pearl of natural beauty

Soft hearted

Hard minded

No regrets wooing her

No regrets holding her hands

Walkin  side by side

Chattin all the way home

Sleepin besides her

Leanin on her

Clinched a thousand precious stones

Climactic moments

In our lives

The right choice

The great choice

*AU MONDE DE JOUR ET NUIT*

C’est le matin

Le jour a commencer

Le jour vol

Les oiseaux se reveillent

Le coq de grand père cri

‘cocorico, cocorico, cocorico’

*TELL ME*

For how do you praise a woman?

When she sees you less frequent

When you see her twice

See none of her, for months

Longing to play sweet songs

To touch & smile

To rivet her love to mine

To smelt it red and shape it our own way

To add her a friend, the *lover* so patient  me

To add her another  my mother

To cry, to shed drops of tears

To praise her character

Appreciate her beauty, lure her everywhere

Yearn for her love & earn it

To plant trees of love

To let her moist breath curl my hair

To nourish her world

On her green dress, pin a rose

Touch her face & gently tap her earlobes

Shape myself to the man she wants

My love won’t shame you

Your second name, I substituted it with joy

Anticipating a yoke of love

Your love, I believe it can be trusted

Your love, probably, would heal my hurts

The hem of your love, probably,

would give me a new meaning to live

Without your true love, my love becomes blunt

Would you become my flute of sweet tunes?

Tunes to freshen the air I breathe

Air so rear, so lethal, to soothe my nostrils

Air to man my destiny

Air so rear, that it kills love from other women

Your beauty shames *man-eaters*

Smear my love all over your body

Am waiting for yours.
